Dear boaters,
The Harbour Master’s Office would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Émergence Association and Antoine Drochon for rescuing Lucie, a young loggerhead turtle.
She was found trapped in a piece of garden netting off the coast of Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
The net, which was wrapped around her neck, had caused deep wounds: she had also swallowed pieces of plastic and other small bits of rubbish.
After being treated by the Émergence team, Lucie was released back into the sea last Friday in the Cap-Ferrat Natura 2000 area, a marine protected area.

⚠ This event is a reminder of how waste can pose a threat to marine wildlife: 80% of the waste at sea comes from land.
