Dear boaters, captains and crews,

Since the 1st of January 2024, the Law relating to the fight against waste and the circular economy (AGEC Law) makes mandatory the sorting of waste at source in order to recycle them.

The failure to comply with the sorting is punishable by an administrative penalty of up to 150 000 € (AGEC Law) and constitutes a criminal offence sentenced to a maximum of 2 years prison term with a fine of 75 000 € (Environmental Code).

In the Port’s rates, sanctions are also mentioned for any pollution, any damaging, or any defacement reported, with an amount of 1 000,00 € (including VAT) to the identified responsible or with actual reclamation costs if this one is higher than 1 000,00 € (including VAT).

For the well-being of everyone and the respect of Environment, we kindly invite you to check the map of the port mentioning the recycling locations below :

We invite you to respect the following instructions :

• NO RUBBISH ON THE GROUND OR AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BINS (Household rubbish, full bin bags, bottles…)

• DON’T DUMP BULKY WASTE ON THE PORT (outdoor living spaces, furniture, sofas, chairs, wooden pallets, pallets….) : Please contact the nearest dump : « DECHETTERIE SUFFIA » (BEAULIEU-SUR-MER):  Boulevard Édouard VII, 06310 Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

• NO TYRES : Please contact « DÉCHETTERIE – NICE OUEST »

• NO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, GAS BOTTLES, AEROSOLS, FOOD OIL (in every shape and form : cans, bottles, …) : Please contact your prestataire

• NO WOODEN PALLETS: Your suppliers have to take them away when they go.

• NO DISTRESS FLARES, SMOKE FLARES IN THE RUBBISH CONTAINERS, SKIPS, OR BINS: Please go to your shipchandler.

• NO ILLEGAL WASTE DUMPING

• All boats at anchor wishing to throw away its rubbish have to contact us in advance, on channel 9 with their VHF.

• NO CIGARETTE BUTTS ON THE GROUND OR IN THE PLANTERS : a butt can pollute up to 500 Liters of water !               

• 15 ashtrays are available on the whole port

       >>> GOOD PRACTICE:

Please recycle in the following way :

• HOUSEHOLD RUBBISH – Green Color or Grey – Stone bins available on the whole port.
• ORGANIC WASTE –  Purple Color – All peelings, leftovers of food waste
• PLASTIC / METAL PACKAGING & PIZZA BOXES… –  Yellow Color
• CARDBOARD – Brown Color – Flatten all boxes before dumping to save space.
• GLASS – Green Color, in the bottle banks available on the whole port, and behind the waste enclosure.
• PAPER – Blue Color, in the paper banks available on the whole port.
• BATTERIES – at the entrance of the Port Office
• DOGS POO : Dog poo bags dispensers available on the whole port (see map above) to throw away in the household rubbish : Bag it & Bin it!

  IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

As part of our « Ports Propres » certification process, please take also in consideration the signage below (see document enclosed).

This one will become mandatory, after getting the certification.

   BEWARE OF PENALTIES !

The city’s Municipal Police and the Port Police will support the Port Office regarding the misbehaviour reported.

We will be particularly watchful and intransigeant regarding the adherence to these instructions.
